Excellent experience, the lights and music were lovely and a treat for Christmas. It was free to watch from outside but you could also pay to go inside to see the angel display which was a beautiful sight to behold.

We visited Lichfield Cathedral not knowing what to expect but we were amazed by the beauty of the architecture. It is definitely worth taking some time out to visit the cathedral.

This is a very unusual cathedral as it has three spires. Particularly important are the Belgian stained glass windows and the St Chad gospel. The setting for the cathedral is lovely. There is no charge for entry although they are only too happy to receive a donation.

A beautiful cathedral with a long history. It is well worth taking the tour as it makes the visit far more interesting and valuable. Our tour guide was Graham Black and his easy knowledgable style made a good visit great. Be generous with your donations and be sure to ask for them to be gift aided if you are a UK tax payer.

I went with young family members and I was a bit disappointed. I don't like the fact that a till and a volunteer is positioned by the entrance to make you feel like you have to give a donation and it is put through the till as it makes you feel compelled to donate.
There is very little information in the leaflets or around the cathedral for visitors to be able to answer questions from children. E.g. there are a lot of statues of past bishops but we don't know who they are. The leaflets could be done with some basic information in to help visitors who do not want or have the time for a full guided tour. If leaflets cannot be update then a sign put in from of the statues to say who it is and what impact they have had on Lichfield Cathedral.

Amazing architecture on a grand scale. The admission is free although there are donation boxes around the building. The staff are very approachable and answered all my questions. The stained glass windows are well worth seeing. The Cathedral is still in regular use I think it would be fantastic to listen to the choir singing at one of the services. I enjoyed reading about the connection with the Staffordshire Regiment, through the many plaques and notices scattered throughout the building. There is an interactive area for youngsters colouring in and making book markers.

We spent a splendid summers day at this magnificent cathedral. This beautiful and ancient cathedral is hidden away in this lovely little town in Staffordshire. Definitely one for the medieval history buffs. Splendid, awesome, impressive.

My first visit to this delightful City. The towers of the Cathedral dominate the countryside for miles around. The building is steep in medieval history and architecture which suits me as a lover of English history, I found my tour to be very informative and the volunteers helpful. The west front presents a magnificent site when approached from The Close. A walk round the precincts is also a must, but take a guide book with you !

Very suprised how rich and inspiring the cathedral was. It is a place of great beauty and much history. What I did like it was free to enter but asked for donations (which we freely gave). Although a service was on at the time it added to the calm we felt. Would highly recommend.

Finally cathedral visit this holiday. Quite striking from outside, a lot of statues line the frontage to the building. The stonework is quite discoloured outside, due to pollution, but doesn't detract from the overall appearance. Inside it's free to enter, but you are encouraged to give a donation. Lots of metal work inside, gates, fencing, balustrades etc. All very different in design.

Open day and weekend events. Music events and classic architecture. All free to view. Not usually my place to visit but this was worth it.

This is a place that takes your breath as soon as you enter. The ceilings and the stained glass especially in the lady chapel is amazing. They do not charge but do accost you on the way in suggesting you make a donation there and then.
Still it is still up to you and when you think the cost of upkeep for these places a donation does help.

A wonderful night & well organised. The acoustic's & lighting were excellent. But the highest accolade has to go to the Garrick Youth singers who were just wonderful. X X X

A beautiful Cathedral with the most amazing architecture. Free admission but it is good to leave a donation. It is very impressive to wander around and take in the atmosphere.
Gorgeous stain glass windows, we have visited a few times and each time it has the most amazing feel to it.
You could take a picnic and sit on the grass but the river is a few minutes walk away,
but there is the most lovely cafe across the road , The cloisters cafe, with home made food and delicious cakes.

Absolutely loved listening to the Lichfield Youth Theatre last night however 2 hours and 30 mins in hard back wooden chairs was not at all comfy
