We walked up to the Cathedral and was very impressed with the size and details on the stonework before we even got inside.
We received a warm welcome and was provided with a small map that pointed out things to see. It was bright inside and we could take our time to look at everything. There was a tour as well if you wanted to have things explained and pointed out in more detail. Tower tours are aslo available at a small charge but wasn't running on the day we visited.
Definitely worth visiting as one of the best cathedrals we have had the pleasure to visit. There is also a small gift shop inside or you can visit a larger one just over the road from the front of the cathedral at the end of your visit.

The free to enter Cathedral offers opportunities to enjoy that sacred space whilst also glimpsing into the history of the building. They also offer additional portals into times gone by: today it was WW1 and poetry. The use of technology to powerfully portray the use fo poetry combined with the travesty of war was breathtaking. The guides available for all at no extra cost enabled an understanding of the various areas of the Cathedral. It was good to be able to stop and pause at Midday and pray for the world, led by the clergy. No obligation but very pleasant in these days of rush and pace to stop and reflect. The shop was discreetly kept to one side of the entrance and the welcomers were not in any way looking for donations merely informing you of the need for donations for the upkeep of the building if you could afford it.

Decided to visit for the afternoon with some friends from overseas - Have been before and thought worth another longer look. I like the fact that they do not charge an entrance fee but ask for donations - I understand must cost an arm and leg to keep these places open, but do not agree with a fixed entrance charge - at the end of the day it is the House Of God, so should be free......

Outstanding cathedral! It has got tower tours, so don't miss it, as it is quite good tour. Also, it is very unusual cathedral, I never seen anything like this before!
They have got a very good choir- pleasant to listen.
And I would ask people to kindly donate (at least a pound), this would keep our cathedrals 'going'.
Also, I have been there for a concert- no words- amazing! It was a Seth Leikeman concert. Wow, wow, wow!

In the several years since I last visited Lichfield Cathedral, I'd forgotten just how impressive it is. Sitting above the picturesque Minster Pool, the three sandstone spires dominate the Cathedral Close and the city below. Its interior is equally grand and was surprisingly quiet when we were there allowing for unhurried enjoyment of its architecture, stained glass and other treasures. Highlights for us were the Chapter House and the unusual St Chad's Head Chapel accessed by a staircase from the south choir aisle.

We hadn't been to Lichfield for several years so were keen to recall our experiences. On this visit we were pleasantly surprised to find that photography is now free because on previous visits we were charged a fee. The walk around the interior was fascinating, especially as we were entertained by a brilliant choir who were rehearsing. The guides were all helpful without being too pushy. Altogether a very enjoyable experience.

This cathedral is unique for its architecture, red stone and historical old bibles. During Easter week 2018 they presented the stations of the cross very effectively.

The cathedral always looks beautiful inside and staff are very friendly and welcoming. It is in a beautiful setting next to Minster and Stowe Pools. A perfect place for a quiet few moments... before continuing shopping around this lovely old city

Wow! Such a stunning peaceful cathedral. I visited on a weekend alone and loved the opportunity to have a peaceful wander around.
Entrance is free but donations are welcome to support the up keep of this stunning building.

Superb and in excellent condition, staff were wonderful and atmosphere tranquil yet inspiring. There was organ practice for the Easter service and we had the place to ourselves which was fantastic.

Well worth a visit. This stunning gothic cathedral with beautiful Flemish stained glass windows is definitely a ‘must visit’ if you are in the area. Plenty of history attached to it and the house of Erasmus Darwin, now a museum, is nearby,

This cathedral was badly damaged and rebuilt in Victorian times. There isn't a charge to get in but you are invited to gift aid any donations given. It is an amazing place and the stain glass windows are unbelievable.

Best cathedral for me in the UK !!. Always feel great when visiting here. Free entry/donation only. Visited with my wife and mother on Easter Sunday afternoon. Even had the luck to hear the choir practising prior to their service in the evening.
