The All About Ipswich Independent Business of the Year Competition launches today in conjunction with the nationally recognised Independence Day celebrations. The competition is being run by Ipswich Central and supported by Ipswich Star to truly celebrate those stores that give Ipswich its unique character and feel. The competition is the perfect opportunity to showcase the many fantastic independents that give the town its unique character in the build-up to the week long Celebrate Ipswich Festival running from the 19th-26th August. Consumers can vote for their favourite business until August the 15th in three ways: Tweet the name of your favourite independent to @allaboutipswich Email the name of your fravourite independent to vip@allaboutipswich.com Fill out a voting card at your favourite independent. The 5 businesses with the most votes will then be 'mystery shopped' and a panel of expert judges will decide the winner of the All About Ipswich “Independent Business of the Year 2013." Last year’s winner was Image Beauty Salon who then went on to win two national awards. Sue Carter, Owner of Image Salon commented “it was a great honour to be nominated by so many of our clients and we were proud that we were able to deliver a level of service that the judges also felt was exceptional.â€Â The winner will then be announced exclusively in the Ipswich Star and then on the All About Ipswich Twitter and Facebook on Monday 26th August.
