GREAT EAST OF ENGLAND CARE AWARDS 2010
Home Care Registered Manager of the Year Awarded to Nicola Rowland of Ulitimate Care UK Ltd.
The regional finals of the Great British Care Awards were held on Friday 29th October 2010 at the Imperial War Museum Duxford and the Care Manager, Nicola Rowland, was successful in the Home Care Registered Manager category and is now through to the national finals to be held at the Royal Courts of Justice in London in 2011.
Nicola beat all other entrants and four other finalists in this category from five counties across the region. These are Suffolk, Norfolk, Essex, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire.
Nicola said “ I am so pleased to have won this award as it is not only a recognition of my hard work but the hard work of all of the staff involved at Ultimate Care UK Ltd.”
Nicola has worked within the care industry for 17 years and has held the post of Care Manager for only two and a half years.The judges decided she was the clear winner because she demonstrated a high level of
expertise together with exceptional skills in managing the complex business of providing support and care to people in their own homes. A Manager who shows vision in developing viable quality services and supporting staff to meet the ever changing need of service users.
Ultimate Care UK Ltd were also finalists on the Care Employer of the Year category. Although they did not win this award they were the only company from Suffolk and Norfolk to have reached the judging and finalist stage. The company has only been operating for two and a half years and feels proud to have beaten more established companies within the Suffolk and Norfolk areas.
Ultimate Care UK Ltd feel proud of these achievements during a time of high financial constraints and budgets cuts by the local authorities. They have proven that high standards can be achieved without relying on government bodies to survive.
