Young Ambassadors is a nationwide competition to find the young person (under 19 years of age) who shows the most outstanding commitment to serving his or her community.
It is organised by Lions Clubs International, the largest community service organisation in the world. Jennifer will now attend the national final in Dudley in February, where she will compete for a prize of £1500 to spend on her chosen project.
Jennifer is a volunteer with the Ormiston Children's Charity and Suffolk Youth Infolink, plus, she also helps the administration team at Ipswich Hospital.
Jennifer has raised money for the Teenage Cancer Trust and, the school-girl has also completed a 15 mile sponsored walk to raise money for the Ipswich Soup Kitchen.
Jennifer is now starting a new project at Copleston School. She is looking to recruit mentors from local businesses to inspire and encourage selected pupils who might otherwise feel unable to access higher education. She is developing a programme including extra tuition and educational visits which will be adapted to suit individual pupils requirements.
