Ipswich Borough Council has been awarded a Heritage Lottery Fund / Big Lottery Fund “Parks for People” grant and is offering a variety of volunteering opportunities.

Volunteering gives you the chance to develop existing skills, learn new ones, train towards a qualification, make new friends andcontacts and provide some extra polish to your CV.

The Holywells Park project offers the following opportunities:

  • The Conservation Club: a group of volunteers carrying out practical conservation work and estate maintenance in Holywells Park. The club gets under way on 18th September – it’s your chance to be a volunteer conservation ranger;
  • The Horticulture Club: a group of volunteers that will plant up and maintain the horticultural areas of the park;
  • Assisting at events that are held in Holywells Park;
  • Helping with surveys, conducting questionnaires and a variety of wildlife surveys.
  • Reception volunteers at the planned new visitor centre.
