The charity event planned for Sunday 8th September features a cricket match between a Barbados XI and the Mayorâs Suffolk All-Stars. There will also be traditional Barbadian entertainment, food and drink to enjoy. The Mayor, Hamil Clarke MBE, hails from the same island as cricket legends Gary Sobers, and is hopeful for a large crowd to boost his charity fund. The Mayor said: âThis is a fabulous prize and it will add to the fun atmosphere in the park. Itâs a special Barbadian fun day and we are pleased that the High Commissioner of Barbados, Hugh Arthur, will be joining us.â Mr Arthur added: âWe are so proud to support this event and give it the required Barbadian flavour. We hope that people from all over the UK will join us for a classic celebration of everything Barbadian. â The event starts at noon, entrance is free.
