Brand new market for Ipswich

We love finding new events that are happening in and around Ipswich and are delighted to see that Ipswich is going to have a brand new market which will take place along the Ipswich Waterfront.

The new event - The Ipswich Waterfront Market - will take place this Sunday, 16th May from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. near to the Custom House and along the quayside. The market will include over 30 stalls selling an eclectic mix of vintage finds, antiques, homewares and other unique pieces.

Richard Ginger of Deben Events, said, "We're really excited to be bringing an entirely new market to the Ipswich Waterfront and looking forward to recreating some of the atmosphere that has proved so popular in Woodbridge most recently, when over a thousand people came to our first market of 2010 in April".

Fellow market organiser, Sarah Hill, said, "These kinds of markets are extremely popular in other large towns and cities cross the UK, so we thought that the Ipswich Waterfront would be the ideal setting for such an event in Suffolk's county town. We'll be aiming to bring a little slice of Portobello Road to Ipswich and belive it will be a popular attraction for the Waterfront Area. " She added, "We're also finding that these markets are the ideal platform for many smaller businesses to promote themselves and gain exposure to a wider range of potential customers. The effect is rather like bringing a row of independent pop-up shops to an appealing setting for one day".

Deben Events is working with Ipswich Borough Council to organise the event. James Young, Ipswich Borouch Council's Events Officer, said, "I hope that the markets will stimulate both business, visitors and residents of the Ipswich Waterfront. They promise to be a fantastic attraction and another reason to visit or live in the area."

Deben Events say that they are keen to hear from any traders who might be interested in having a stall at the market. Richard said, "We're always on the look-out for interesting traders, so would tell prople to get in touch by visiting our website at www.debenevents.com."

We are sure that this is going to prove very popular and would love to hear your comments once you have been to this event.
