Top reasons to staycation in Hitchin - number 2

Most of us in Hitchin are blessed with our families, friends, jobs and lifestyles. Every once in a while, life throws us a curved ball and there are amazing caring people, charities and organisations to help us get through our difficulties.

Lister hospital is full of caring staff and - even though it's in Stevenage and not right on our doorstep - they have helped many of us as our families grow as well as through difficult times. The children's ward needs additional funds to help provide more than just medical care and 'The Magic of Play' appeal acknowledges the vital part of play in all children's development and especially when they're undergoing treatment.

The charity's patron is Ether Rantzen and their aim is to raise £250,000.

You can help them AND have fun on Sunday 28 July by getting along to the Sailor Boy and taking part in an event organised by Nicola Prebble of The White Wardrobe to help celebrate her first year in business.

There will be food and drink, fun and games and you will be making a difference to the experience of children when they have to go into hospital.
