The Annual Hitchin Pancake Race

This morning saw the annual Pancake Races take place through the centre of Hitchin, using the main High Street as a track. The event was again organised by the Hitchin Priory Rotary Club, with all proceeds and donations made going to Rotary charities, most notably Garden House Hospice.

The races themselves were fun, exciting and a great way for Hitchin to be seen. With businesses getting involved, including teams from banks, bakeries and even the now-traditional firefighter team, crowds were lining the street with cameras and smiles. There were even some hanging out of windows to have a good laugh during their lunch break!

The event finished in the Market Square, where market stalls were selling goods and the obvious pancakes to further the funds raised for the charities.

Keep your eyes peeled for the final amount raised, but thankyou to all those who turned up and revelled in what makes Hitchin great!

Enjoy your pancakes!
