Speed Networking in Hitchin gets Everyone Buzzing

Last night we held a networking evening for local businesses in the restaurant Indulge at the Centre for the Arts in Hitchin.  The restaurant is run by the catering students at North Hertfordshire College and is a commercial venture.

Over 50 people attended the evening which was a mixture of relaxed social networking and focussed 'speed networking'.  Keith Hoskins, Town Centre Manager gave a talk on issues facing the High Street.

The evening was also a fund raiser for Sue Ryder - St.Johns Hospice.  A charity close to my heart as my mum spent her last few days in the hospice and the care that they gave her and us was brilliant.  Keith is running the Brighton Marathon in 3 weeks to raise funds for this cause.

Raffle prizes were donated by local businesses and I would like to publicly thank them:-

Charles Wilson Carpets, Nuffield Health, Sweet Feet Reflexology, The Pilates Pod, 42 Limited, Woodside Osteopathic Clinic, Foreman Law Solicitors, The Red Hart, Parc Computers, The Buckersbury Clinic, Chesfield Downs Golf and Country Club and Bringing Out Your Brilliance - Reiki.

We raised over £675 on the evening so many thanks to all who attended and those who purchased raffle tickets.

We also took the opportunity to present 3 local businesses with certificates on the evening.  Lotty Meyler from Peony Florist and Gift Shop, Christina Norwich from Bringing Out Your Brilliance and Peter Webb from Picture This Photographers.  Special mentions to Charles Wilson Carpets and 42 Limited for reaching 100+ reviews on their businesses too.

If you've not been along to one of these events before, please do some along - they are well worth attending.  We often have networking virgins come along so you won't be the only one!
