Rhythms of the World - ticket gate volunteers needed
6th June 2009
... Comments

The 2009 Rhythms of the World is only a month away and it seems that this year is very well organised. It may be that thebestof hitchin has been far more involved this year and therefore we have seen more of the organisation but if Faith Houberts enthusiasm is anything to go by, the Music Festival is going to be a fantastic one. Let's hope the weather is as sunny as last year.

Faith is in charge of getting people through the door and is looking for 100 volunteers each to man the gates. Volunteers work in pairs. Key skills are friendly manner but firm and be a quick worker. You need to be over 18 years although there are some opportunites for 16-18 year olds if they are keen to get involved.

Volunteers at Rhythms will get involved checking tickets, issuing wrist bands, checking proof of age and some will get involved with selling tickets. Professional security staff will be near by to help if necessary.

Anyone who is committed to helping for 4 hours or more would be gratefully received. This can be done in one session or split into 2x2 hours. Volunteers are needed from 10.30am to 10pm on the Saturday and 10.30am to 8pm on the Sunday. Light refreshments will be available and a free entry pass is given for the day. Volunteers will be police checked.

If anyone is interested in helping out at The Rhythms of the World on either 4th or 5th July, please contact Faith Houbert on 01462 453637 or faith.houbert@talk21.com

All help is gratefully received. Go on make a difference!
