Calling All Local Artists: Rhythms of the World Needs You!

Apply to become one of four Artists in Residence at this year’s ROTW

Rhythms of the World music festival is appealing to all local artists to get involved with the festival and create an artwork on site during the festival weekend (14 & 15 July).

The artwork, which must focus on an aspect of the festival, may be purchased by Rhythms of the World at the end of the festival and placed in its Art Archive for posterity.  Successful artists will received a free weekend pass, cost of materials and meals throughout the event.

Artists will be provided with a covered space to work in for the weekend and festival goers are encouraged to watch artists’ ‘work in progress’ and talk to artists at work.

Rhythms of the World Artists in Residence Coordinator, Rosie Rigg, comments:
“The festival is a fantastic opportunity to be inspired and to showcase your work as an artist.  It is visited by over 30,000 people over the weekend so think of it as an exhibition of your work, in the open air!  Rhythms of the World was created to celebrate artists and performers of all types so we welcome proposals from any discipline and creative arts background.”

Would-be resident artists are asked to submit a proposal on their chosen idea, please visit www.rotw.org.uk for details on what to include in your proposal.  The deadline for all proposals is Tuesday, 8th May.
