An announcement from Rhythms of the World (ROTW) means there will be no large festival in 2016, but a series of fundraising events will keep the flame alive.

Amy Hopkins, Chair of the Trustees, said: "In celebration of our 25th anniversary, 2016 will see a programme of events that will help us to showcase the diversity of the arts in Hitchin, whilst at the same time staying true to the vision of the charity to unite diverse communities through music and the arts. We will announce details of the programme in early 2016 and will be calling for volunteers to help ROTW present an amazing year of events in Hitchin."

The launch event has already been announced over the weekend of 23 April 2016 at the Half Moon pub, in the form of a beer festival with live music.

Some of the events will involve an entrance fee and there will be lots of bucket-rattling!

Amy said: "We are encouraging people who want to support ROTW in the short term to make a donation to the charity.

"You can do this online at www.virginmoneygiving.com and entering 'Rhythms of the World’ in the ‘Find a Charity’ box. The full URL is:
