The consultation on possible expansion of Luton Airport has begun. Find out the facts behind the expansion proposal and have your views heard by going along to one of the exhibitions and clicking online.

The process runs until 26 March and drop-in exhibitions are being held across the area: go to http://www.futureluton.co.uk/pdf/futureLutonOptimisation-ConsultationTimetableUpdate.pdf to find a list of events.

All the information on display at the exhibitions can be seen at www.futureluton.co.uk/optimisation but the advantage of going in person is that there are members of the team proposing the expansion are there to answer questions.

When the exhibition came to Hitchin, many people visited to find additional information and to express their views. However, there is also an online questionnaire at www.futureluton.co.uk/questionnaire.asp

Groups in Hitchin, like Hitchin Forum at www.hitchinforum.org.uk are raising their own concerns about the potential development in Hitchin and have some unanswered questions, including one relating to the likely effect on the A505.

So, this is your chance to have your say - would this potential redevelopment bring additional business and a positive economic upturn for our area, or negative additional development, traffic and upheaval?
