Love Hitchin - pick up on litter

You may have noticed the efforts made by a dozen volunteers to tidy up the old B&Q site opposite the station.

On Sunday 6 May, the group cleared the site of litter, organised by Hitchin Forum members Barry and Clare Arends.

Now the Forum (and Hitchin town as a whole) has joined the national campaign 'Love where you live' and are organising a town-wide litter clean up for Hitchin. Find out more about the campaign at www.lovewhereyoulive.org

So, how can you help?

On Sunday 27 May - the week before the Jubilee weekend - the Forum is hoping that residents will clean up their own streets and footpaths and neighbourhoods between 10am and 12pm. Of course, you can do it at any other time, but it would be good to collectively see a difference in our community.

The campaign is being called 'Love Hitchin - pick up on litter' and you can find more information at www.hitchinforum.org.uk/love-hitchin-and-pick-up-on-litter

Remember to get some 'Before' and 'After' pictures and share them with us all.

Hitchin Initiative is provided black bags for all the litter and the NH District Council's Serviceteam will be collecting the bags of rubbish after the event.

Tell Hitchin Forum what you are planning to do by sending an email to litter@hitchinforum.org.uk and be part of this campaign.
