It's Pantomime time again! Oh no it's not - oh yes it is!

Every year we take our children to see a pantomine and it costs a fortune!  Not only do you spend over £100 for a family of 4 to go but you end up buying those annoying lights which are a fiver each.  Bah humbug.  But actually we really look forward to going, it's all part of family time at Christmas and the children love it.  When they were little they used to get frightened but now they are shouting out with everyone else.  So I thought it might be useful to give you a heads up to what Christmas pantomimes are on in the area.

Our very own Market Theatre has the childrens story of 'The Snow Queen' aimed primarily at  4-8 year olds but great fun for children of all ages.  This opens on 5th December through to 9th January.  Ring 01462 433553 to book your tickets.  Don't get this confused with the Adult Panto version of the Snow 'Queen' which is always a popular show of the Market Theatre!  This opens 3rd December and runs through to the 6th March 2010.

A Christmas Carol is on for 4 nights at the Queen Mother Theatre in Hitchin from 17th December through to 20th December performed by The Bancroft Players.  Box Office is 01462 455166.

Jack and the Beanstalk is the panto on at Plinston Hall in Letchworth from 27th December to 2nd January presented by St Paul’s Amateur Dramatics Society.  You can call the box office on 01462 672003.

The Gordon Craig in Stevenage is showing Aladdin 28th November through to 24th January 2010.  Box office 01438 363200.

I'm sure there are loads more plays and pantos going on locally - please let us know and we will make sure they get put onto thebestof hitchin website!
