There has been an exciting new addition to our online services; Hertfordshire Libraries now offer free, full digital copies of over 100 popular magazines. All you need is your library card number and an email address. It works on all computers and there is even an app for mobile devices; some of the titles include Amateur Photographer, Hello, Cosmopolitan, GQ, NME and New Scientist. Subscriptions to these would cost you hundreds, but they are all available through Hertfordshire Libraries, all completely free.

Just go to www.hertsdirect.org/libraries, and follow the link to Online Library Services. Then click on ‘Read magazines online’ - where you will find some simple instructions on setting up your account - and follow the link to Zinio.

All Hertfordshire Libraries also have online access to Which?, the popular consumer report magazine. This would currently cost you over £100 a year, but is available free in any Hertfordshire Library – as well as having the hard copies available as reference.
