Hitchin Trail Blazers Win Big

3 lucky winners scooped £400 worth of gift vouchers to spend in shops in Hitchin. Iain Fair, Aileen Morley and Nina Bissenden all too part in the Independent Christmas Shopping Trail which ran during December. People were encouraged to ‘complete’ a trail around the town, collecting ‘stamps’ on their maps from the businesses taking part.

Each business stumped up £50 worth of gift vouchers as prizes.

Aileen, who lives in Little Wymondley said “Even though I shop mainly in Hitchin, I did not know some of the businesses and I look forward shopping with them and to using these vouchers”.

Iain took part with his wife and 2 young children and said “We really enjoyed the whole experience, the businesses were really friendly and the kids had fun too and even got some free things in some of the shops. We got to know about a lot of businesses that we never knew were there”

The trail was co-ordinated in the town by local business women Louise Yexley, who runs thebestofhitchin and was sponsored by The Comet, Hitchin Bid and The Car Agents.

Business that took part in the campaign where: Charles Wilson Carpets, Parc Computer Centre, Tannz, Greys Hairdressers, The Croft, The Victoria Pub, The White Wardrobe, Jules Fashion Accessories, The Car Agents, Hitchin Library, The Art Next, Body Magic Beauty & Health Spa, Chilli Banana, Shine Hairdressers, Kerie Hoy Beauty, Eric T Moore Books, Acorn Estate Agents, Etcetera Gift Shop, Shephard & Akay Opticians, HRH Holmes, Rubarb Fashions, Cornish Hearts, The Health Emporium and The Town Garden Florist and Gift Shop.
