The delights of Hitchin are being showcased in the ITV1 show 'Ten Mile Menu' which is being broadcast on Tuesday 27th July 5-6pm. Actor Ricky Groves, best known for playing Garry Hobbs in EastEnders and more recently Strictly Come Dancing, is teamed up with professional chef Galton Blackiston, owner of Morston Hall on the north Norfolk coast.
In the show teams compete to produce the best three-course menu with locally sourced ingredients.
Mr Blackiston is quoted in the Norwich Evening News as saying “I was in Hitchin, which was a place I didn't know. I found wonderful watercress, long-horn beef, fantasic vegetables and some wild garlic.”
