The Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile is here and it’s this weekend at the Boys School in Hitchin.  The town is set to host its first ever Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile, organised by Tri One Limited, on the afternoon of Sunday 25th March, with activities kicking off at 1.30pm.

We have had an amazing level of entries (over 350).  Online entry is now full, but we will be taking entries on the day, so come early! Even if you don’t want to enter, please come along on the day and give your support for this very worthwhile cause.  We have a great afternoon on offer with activities happening from 1.30pm.  The following local businesses will be coming along to offer their support

- The Radcliffe Arms will be doing a barbecue
- Ice creams from Ice Baby
- Face painting from Kaleidoscope
- Balloon modelling from Loony Balloony
- Bouncy castles and slides from Crazy Castles
- Photography and filming from Moas Productions
- Cakes from Blossom Cakes and Bakes
- Drinks from Starbucks
- Demo  from Younique Dance Squad
- Soft Play from Space 2 Play
- Football demo from Footballs Future
- We will also have some live music from Mr Speaker and other bands
- Many shopping stalls including Pilates Pod, Tiny Charmers, Jamie at Home , Billion Dollar Brows and much more

Setting off from the grounds of Hitchin Boys School, the Hitchin Mile will take place within the school grounds and is set to be an incredible event. Entrants don’t have to be sporty to take part, but can choose to complete 1, 3 or 6 miles knowing that all the money raised will help to change the lives of people living unimaginably tough lives right here on our doorstep, across the rest of the UK and in some the world’s poorest countries.  There will be lots of fun things happening on the day, including activities for adults and children, shopping, food and more – a great fun day out for all the family, whilst raising a bit of money for charity at the same time!

Howard Davis of Tri One Ltd, who is organising the Hitchin Sport Relief Mile comments: “I am delighted to be organising the first Hitchin Sport Relief Mile, with the help of Hitchin Boys School.  We have had a fantastic level of interest in this event, with online entries now full, and it is great to see the way in which the local community has come together so far.  Please do come along and enter on the day or even just to show your support for this cause and the local people and companies who are showing their support in a big way.”

The Sport Relief Weekend kicks off on Friday 23rd March when everyone gets active, has fun and raises cash at home, at work or at school; before settling down to watch a night of top Sport Relief TV on BBC One. There will be even more BBC radio, online and TV coverage throughout the weekend to keep you entertained. By the end of the weekend everyone will be raring to go, when the whole nation comes together to take part in the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile on Sunday 25th March.
