In his latest missive to local businesses, Town Centre Manager Keith Hoskins says that the annual week-long celebration "aims to support and promote local restaurants, pubs, cafes, food and drink retailers, growers, manufacturers and farmers from Hitchin and the surrounding villages." A lofty aim, but just proves how fortunate we are to still have those enterprising people and businesses TO support.
The patron is Andrew Turner, who lives in Hitchin and is Executive Chef at the prestigious Cafe Royal in London. He'll be headlining a programme of food demonstrations in the Market Place on 8 and 9 September. There'll be a food and drink trail, with a map to inspire all of us to try new tastes around the town.
Anyone who'd like to participate should email sally@retailrevival.org.uk to register their interest. Why not do it now?
