Hitchin 10K and Hard Half Marathon - update

Over 300 runners have already entered for this year’s race and they come from all points of the UK – Bristol, Scarborough, Brighton and 120 from Hitchin itself. Strangely none from Scotland this year! But we do have one from New York and ex Para-Olympian Louise Simpson is entering the 10K this year. She did the half last year.

The youngest runners are 17 and the oldest male is 68 and the oldest female 60.  90% of entrants are not members of running clubs and 2/3 are men and 1/3 women.

88 have run the race before which means we have 211 newbies this year in the half.

Our local clubs of North Herts Road Runners, Fairlands Valley Spartans and Team Trisports are well represented, The fastest predicted womens time is 1h 27 mins and for men 1h 20 mins. (I'm excluding the one that says 45 mins for the half and assume he has entered the wrong race!)

In the new 10K race, women currently outnumber the men and the fastest forecast times are 50 mins womens and 38 min mens.

It's not too late to enter either races and you can find out more about both here  http://www.h3m.co.uk/

Money raised from this event is going to The British Schools Museum in Hitchin http://www.britishschoolsmuseum.co.uk/
