Go Classical this Christmas
22nd October 2012

I have to confess to being painfully excited about Christmas and it's as much as I can do to hold off preparations until Advent begins on 2 December.

You'll find me at every Christmas Fair and festive happening between now and 24 December and one I've already got in the diary is the next Hitchin Symphony Orchestra Concert.

Symphony Orchestra? Hitchin has a Symphony Orchestra? If that's news to you, then you should get along to St Mary's Church on Saturday 24 November at 7:30pm for a little enlightenment.

We know there's a host of musical talent around Hitchin, with live music regularly featuring in our pubs and clubs, but classical music is often the starting point for our young musicians, giving them a grounding in the musical basics.

Led by Janet Hicks and conducted by Paul Rooke, HSO always produces music at the very highest standard, so this concert is one to fit into your diary. Rubbra, Beethoven and Mozart are on the programme and tickets in advance will save you money. Call 01462 458614 or pop into the Hitchin Town Centre Initiative offices next to the Church.

See you there!
