15th November 2010
... Comments

Rhythms of the World (ROTW) is looking for people to help put on Hitchin’s annual world music festival at Hitchin Priory on July 9 and 10, 2011. Next year’s festival is extra special as it’s the 20th anniversary of Rhythms of the World.

Anyone who is interested in volunteering is welcome to an informal and informative Open Evening at Chic Bar, 35 Churchgate, Hitchin, at 8pm on Monday November 29 to learn more. There’ll be a short presentation explaining what the Rhythms of the World (ROTW) team does and a chance to talk to many current volunteers over a drink.

ROTW is run entirely by volunteers – and more are always needed. There are individual posts to fill and teams to join including:

  • Event team
  • Sponsorship and grants
  • Fundraising events
  • Communications
  • Site building and derigging
  • Front of house
  • The ‘green team’
  • Stewards

Volunteers are needed now at the planning stages or people can get involved in the run up to the festival.

‘We’ll be delighted to meet anyone who would like to get involved, however much help they can offer,’ said ROTW Volunteer Co-ordinators Alison Watt and Jo Winstanley ‘We’re particularly keen to meet people who can help liaise with the local community as a whole.’

Anyone who is interested but cannot attend the volunteers’ evening can contact Alison Watt on 07834 363626 or Jo Winstanley on 07879 487445, e-mail volunteers@rotw.org.uk or visit the ROTW website at www.rotw.org.uk
