Lots happening in and around Hitchin at this festive time of year.  Here are a few dates for your diary:-

25th November - Christmas Tree Lights Switch On - music and stalls on the Market Place from 4pm - 8pm with the big switch on by the lucky raffle prize winner at 6pm.

1st December - Dedicate a Light to Remember: 7.30pm at St Mary’s Church, Churchyard.  Remember a loved on this Christmas by dedicating a candle at the Marie Curie Cancer Care Lights to Remember event.  Mulled wine and mince pies will be served after the service.  Call 01920 467191 for more details.

10/11th December - The Hitchin Christmas Tree Festival:  from noon-6pm at Holy Saviour Church, Radcliffe Rd. This annual celebration is increasingly popular each year and attracts thousands from far and wide. Lunches and tea available.  Admission £2.50 accompanied children free.

11th December - Gala Day - music and entertainment from 11am.  Local school choirs, North Herts All Girls Choir, Round Table mulled wine, Redbornstoke Morris and Bedfordshire Lace, Herts Community Youth Choir, Churches Together and Hitchin Band.  Jugglers, unicyclistss, jazz band and interactive street theatre.

15th December - Late night Shopping and Treasure Hunt - local retailers are open until 8pm

18th December - Father Christmas arrives in Hitchin! in the Market Place at 2pm and ARK Farm Petting Zoo will be there too.
