The 10th annual Champneys charity bike ride took place on Sunday 20th May and a record 280 riders signed up and took part.  Starting and finishing at Champneys Henlow, riders had a choice of a 22 or 36 mile route around the Bedfordshire countryside.  The forecasted rain stayed away and although it was a little on the cold side it made ideal cycling conditions.  It is expected that we will have raised between £20,000-£25,000 which will be split between our four chosen charities.  These are Target Ovarian Cancer, Prostate Cancer, Silver Star Appeal (a diabetes charity) and Champneys Charitable Foundation (purchasing special equipment for disabled children and adults).  Celebrities John Altman (Nick Cotton from Eastenders), Sarah Greene (ex Blue Peter) and Mitchell Thomas (former Spurs and Luton footballer) all took part.  After the ride, everyone enjoyed a garden party which was attended by The Rt Hon Keith Vaz MP, founder of The Silver Star Appeal.
