It's that time of year again for hot dogs, sparklers and things that go bang, fizz and we go ooh ahh. A small fortune spent on a box of fireworks that last 10 or 15 minutes. But it's got to be done, whether you've got young children or not, each year organised firework and bonfires attract thousands of people.
If you are looking for an organised event in or around the Hitchin area, here are a few to choose from. If you know of any others, please let us know!

Stevenage Firework Display: November 5

A FREE 30 minute display. Starts at 7.30pm Early arrival advised. Please do not bring fireworks or sparklers. Be aware of road closures in Stevenage.
Letchworth Garden City & Baldock Lions Firework Display: Sunday November, 3rd
Herts FA County Ground, Baldock Road, Letchworth Garden City, SG6 2EN
Doors open from 5.30pm for 7pm start. Hot food & bar available. Pre-booking advised: Adult £4, under 16s £3 Tickets can be purchased from David’s Music Shop, Eastcheap, Letchworth Garden City. On the night tickets will be: Adult £5.50, under 16’s £3.50.
Mount Pleasant Golf Club Firework Display in Lower Stondon on Sunday 6th November - 6pm Adults £3, Children £2. Get tickets from the club house or pay on the gate
And further afield from Hitchin but still worth a visit:-
Firework Frenzy at Santapod - 2nd November. Gates open 2pm with stunts, fair. Fireworks at 6pm and bonfire light at 4.40pm £15 per car in advance or £20 on the gate.
Moggerhanger Park Bonfire Night and Fireworks: Saturday, November 2 Moggerhanger Park, Park Road, Moggerhanger, MK44 3RW Telephone: 01767 641007 Website: www.moggerhangerpark.com Gates open from 5.30pm for hot food and hot drinks. A firework spectacular commences at 7pm. Tickets in advance: Adult £5, children £2.50.
St Albans Fireworks: November 2
