Been here a couple of times - weekday term time and a bank hol Monday. Weekday term time was quiet and more enjoyable but bank hol was okay, it’s big enough to accommodate some crowds.

The best parts are the dinosaurs and the playground, although it’s a bit cheeky to charge extra (£2pp) for the dinosaur train given the entry price. Look out for the big sandpit next to the dinosaur gift shop exit, where little ones can ‘dig’ for dinosaur bones.

The indoor soft play is also very good, despite people ignoring the signs about keeping the door closed / buggies out, and no staff supervising or cleaning up the tables. The coffee is almost undrinkable and I’d recommend bringing a picnic (plenty of picnic tables) unless you want to pay £5.50 for a sandwich. The toilets on bank hol Monday were disgusting, but they were okay when we went in the week.

The zoo part is good but, as other reviewers have commented, some cages do seem quite small. The new lion enclosure isn’t finished yet (says it’s due to open in May), but it looks like it will be much better.

Overall it’s a good day out, particularly if you have a young dinosaur fan. It’s just a shame the cafe & toilet facilities aren’t better.

Great place for a family day out with younger kids. The zoo area has a great big cat section and it’s very easy to walk around the different areas with little kids as it’s all quite small and close together. The Jurassic Park bit is a good bit of fun and there are loads of play parks and additional things to entertain the kids. Food choices are all unhealthy and a bit pricey to take a packed lunch.

An interesting visit with plenty of things to see for younger children and some animals as well. Relatively expensive for a day out. Just for wildlife I prefer ZSL London and Whipsnade Zoo.

The dinosaurs are here! We went to see the dinosaurs first as it's nearer to the ticket office. It's a nicely laid out walk, taking you from one dinosaur to another. They move and make sounds. It all ends at the Dino Store.
At the stage area, situated in the play area, there is a chance to meet Blue the velociraptor (only at certain times).
I've only ever been if I've had some sort of price concession. It's a good day out. The zoo has the five Big Cats plus other large animals.
Food and drink is quite expensive so it would be advisable to take a packed lunch and drinks.

Visited today with my 8 year old daughter and dinosaur mad 4 year old son. We booked tickets online - making a saving. Ample parking. No queues.
We had a blast. The park exceeded expectation.
The dinosaur enclosure was superb. All displays working / roaring / moving etc.
All enclosures were tidy. All staff friendly. Ashley in the Dino Nursery was particularly kind.
We found prices of extra bits like Train ride (£2) and water jet (£1) to be very reasonable. Gift shop prices, whilst inflated, were by no means extortionate. A great range of gifts on offer.
The animal enclosures were very tidy. Yes, I’d prefer to see the big cats enjoy more space, but I’ve seen worse.
There was so much to see, great balance of animals, games / rides / play areas etc
I found the toilets clean contrary to other reviews.
Lots of areas to sit / enjoy a picnic.
We had a super day and will return.
Thanks for a great day
See you again
