We had a great day at Hertfordshire Zoo and really enjoyed our visit.

The dinosaurs were brilliant and probably one of our favourite parts of the day. We also loved seeing the lions, and the bird display was really good and well worth stopping for.

There was plenty to see and do and we easily spent a good few hours wandering around. The whole place feels like it’s had a lot of investment and care put into it and we all came away having had a really enjoyable day.

Definitely worth a visit and we’d happily go back.

Took my 3 yr old grandson and daughter he loved the dinosaur park. We went round twice. The splash park was great except for 4 older boys running and splashing little ones but he still loved it. The animals were mainly visible and looked healthy, though the tiger was just walking its perimeter the whole time, it looked alone?
Loved the entertainment for the little ones with animated dinosaur looking for his mum.
On the whole, i highly recommend, maybe need staff to monitor the splash pool every now and again?

We had such a fantastic day out at Hertfordshire Zoo! The entire park has a wonderfully welcoming and vibrant atmosphere while still feeling calm, safe, and amazingly well-maintained.
There is so much to see and do throughout the day—from watching the impressive big cats, penguins, and primates to stepping back in time along the World of Dinosaurs trail. The habitats are modern and spacious, and the entire layout makes for a smooth, stress-free experience where you can enjoy everything at your own pace.
🦖 Fun Fact: The zoo's World of Dinosaurs attraction is one of the biggest in the UK, featuring over 40 life-sized, moving, and roaring animatronic dinosaurs hidden among the woodland trails! Also, if you ever watched the popular CBBC show One Zoo Three, this is the exact zoo where CBBC brothers Aaron, Tyler, and Cam film their animal conservation adventures!
🚗 Parking: Ample on-site parking available with dedicated accessible bays located close to the main entrance, making arrival quick and completely hassle-free.
♿ Accessibility: Excellent, mostly flat, and paved pathways throughout the park that are smooth and easy to navigate with wheelchairs, pushchairs, or mobility scooters.
🚻 Toilets: Exceptionally clean, well-maintained restrooms, accessible facilities, and baby changing spaces are conveniently distributed across key areas of the zoo.

Feel sad about this one! Absolutely loved the Dinosaurs and the kids play area. But the actual animal part of the zoo was a big let down. Hardly saw any animals and honestly I feel their habitas are too small

EXCELLENT day out. So clean & tidy. We saw all the lovely animals SO well, lots of different view points to see them on all levels. So wonderful to see the Tiger, lions, snow leopard and jaguars so close & looking so healthy. There’s been a real baby boom at the zoo, we saw baby mongoose, baby tapir, baby capybaras, wallaby babies and the red panda babies were inside sleeping whilst the parents were happily taking part in a feeding experience. The bird show was fantastic. The new lemur walkthrough is AMAZING. ALL the staff here are so friendly & look happy to be there & helpful. Such a great day out.

A good day out - would say membership cost effective if local or using ZSEA cards for a free visit is recommended to get the most of it. Dinosaurs were amazing. Long trek to the entrance from the car park so arrive early if you need to park close by. Zoo animals were enjoyed by all. Some no sees such as the tigers but we expect that from a good enclosure to be honest. Bird display was very busy so couldn't find a seat but worth a watch as so few places do these any more. The boulder beach was a bit uninspiring and empty. Would prob not go just for this aspect unless a member already! Found it tricky to find a drink at one point but there's a good range of food outlets at entrance. They didn't stay open until close so we missed out on donuts! Overall we spent an afternoon here - about four to five hours.

Staff were very helpful and friendly. Huge zoo so well spread out that you don't need to worry about over crowding, the best day ever was had by us, thank you Hertfordshire Zoo definitley have to visit so many animals and talks, entertainment. Brilliant day out.
Only thing I would say, it would be great if the zoo actually had the numbers aroud each point like they do on the map, helpful to people like me that have no sense of direction

Hertfordshire Zoo did not disappoint! Our four year old loved seeing the dinosaurs and it was great to be able to have our picnic in the dinosaur picnic area too. There is a lot to see but it feels very accessible, clear signage and paths to help connect the animal experiences. The bird show was great. The different heights of viewing platforms and windows was really positive, we saw many of the animals fairly close. Lots of toilets, refreshments and opportunities to sit down if needed. Lots of activities for children with soft play, adventure playground and splash area to name a few. We'll be back to have a ride on the T-Rex train!

World of dinosaurs was fantastic but overall the zoo was dissapointing, food/drink outlets were awful(bring your own food) a cup of coffee that tasted like dishwater, and the young staff had no interest in their jobs, £2 extra for dino train ride.

We had a wonderful day. This park is fantastic. So many happy, well cared for animals could be visited. The staff were wonderful, friendly and knowledgeable. The bird show was amazing. The park is very well laid out and easy to get around with great views. We even ate in the pizza restaurant with a prowling tiger. There’s a schedule of talks and shows, with some great playgrounds with the soft play and splash park too. It’s especially great value if you have a Blue Peter badge, Blue Light card or pre-buy your ticket. We will be back.

Its been a while since we've been here some very nice updates. From my piont of veiw ( and this is just me ) spent far to much time trying to compare the new to old lay outs and not enjoying the animals, BUT I'm sure with return visits this will improve

My daughter, my grandsons and myself visited the Zoo on Wednesday 19th August 2026. It's a lovely Zoo plus it has play areas and a soft play area. We visited those and saw all the animals that were out! It was a lovely day out. We took packed lunch and bought coffee and ice creams which just added to the enjoyment!

One the best zoos to go in or around London. Would highly recommend it. The shops had ice creams and drink reasonably priced. Went with my son who had the greatest time.
