Lovely park and gatehouse. (Castle) Slightly spoiled by the traffic on the A414. Kids play ground could benefit from an upgrade. Hosts great events across the year. Castle is free entry when open normally during when the events are on. Can gain access to the Hertford tunnels if you know who to ask...

Nothing really remains of the actually castle, however there is a magnificent brick gatehouse which now serves a multitude of purposes. These include offices, wedding venue and you can actually arrange a tour.
The small park is very nice with a children's play area, walks and a small river occupied by ducks.

We got married at Hertford Castle at the end of October and it was quite simply the most perfect venue. Jackie, Ray and the team were truly amazing, and they effortlessly ensured that everything went as planned on our special day. Jackie is extremely professional, and like others have said, we felt extremely well looked after right from the very beginning. We cannot recommend this place highly enough!

I would like to say thank you to Jackie who made our day prefect. I recently got married in the Hertford castle and it was such a beautiful day. Jackie made it very comfortable and prefect for me and my husband. This was the most beautiful place ever. I’ve attended weddings before but the Hertford castle was the most amazing and special place I have ever seen. I would like to thank the team once again. The team did not rush us and allowed us to take our time and was very patient.
I would definitely visit the Hertford castle again and recommend it to anyone who is getting married.
