New President for Ripley Branch
 
The Ripley & District Branch of the Royal British Legion have  recently appointed a Youth President to encourage the younger generation to get involved with the Legion and its valuable work.

Fourteen year old Mill Hill student and Army Cadet Jacob Elliott of Ripley Detachment  is a youth member of the Ripley Branch and also the RBL Riders Branch, he was presented with his Chain of Office at a recent meeting by the Chair of the Branch Dean Fowler. 

Dean said 'This is a landmark event for the Branch and a testament to Jacobs enthusiasm and achievements over the past year. Once again Ripley branch are leading the way, drawing upon the heritage of the Legion while looking to the future'

The Branch meet at 1930 on the first Thursday of the month in the function room at the Sir Barnes Wallis Public House on Maple Avenue Ripley and everyone is welcome.
