25/3/2012. Derby Mini Soccer. Under 9's Group 2.
Codnor Boys 6-1 Pegasus.

After a break of 4 weeks Codnor powered to another victory.

It was a beautiful sunny day at Derby Racecourse. Codnor began the match with Ewan McCracken in goal.

After an even start, Codnor took the lead when James Dean, deployed as a defender, ventured upfield and scored what turned out to be the best goal of the game - a brilliant drive in off the post. Pegasus battled back and equalised with a good finish from a corner. Codnor piled on the pressure and went into half time 3-1 up with goals from Ben Greaves and Ben Richards.

Codnor were comfortable throughout the 2nd half. Lewis Walker and Ben Greaves both had stints in goal and neither was beaten. Codnor scored further goals through Lewis Hartshorne, Tanaka Muchechesi and a second for Ben Richards. It was nice to see the goals being spread around the team with five different names on the scoresheet. Liam Shelton and Noah Wright brought the ball out of defence well to set up attacks. The game was played in good spirit and Pegasus battled well.

The result leaves Codnor in 3rd place in the league with one game remaining. If Codnor win this game in hand they will clinch runners up spot in the league. Unfortunately the game in hand is against champions Field Lane.
