Nigel Mills MP attends 1st Sitwell Scouts' "Scouting Taster Day"

Last Saturday (1st March) saw Leaders, helpers and friends of 1st Sitwell Scout Group come together to run a "Scouting Taster Day" to promote scouting to get new members into the re-opened Scout group

The group put on many activities during the day from wax modelling, making a compass, pyrography, cake decorating, face painting, making woggles and key rings to mini caving, kayaking, cycling and backwoods cooking to name a few.

Local MP Nigel Mills also presented the Queen's portrait, (The Scouts' Patron) to the Scout Group.

The venue for the event was at the recently re-opened 1st Sitwell HQ in Horsley Woodhouse Derbyshire

The group is open to the surrounding areas from Heanor, Shipley Park, Marlpool, Smalley and of course Horsley Woodhouse.

Section time are as follows

Beaver Scouts (6-8years) Thursday  6-7pm

Cub Scouts (8-10½ years) Wednesday 6:30-8pm

Scouts (10½-14 years) Monday 7- 8:30pm
