After being on the receiving end of a 173 run hammering at the hands of Morton Colliery a couple of weeks ago, Langley Mill’s Sunday side completely turned the tables with a six wicket victory in the repeat match at Station Road.

Batting first, Morton were no match for the bowling of Steve Walker and Alex Bacon as they slumped to 116 all out. Bacon was the pick with four wickets for 29 while Walker registered figures of 3 for 42. Kyle Barton took 1 for 24 and there were two run outs.

For Morton, only skipper Josh Clarke (25) and Ben Clarke (23) got passed 20 as the visitors were shot out in under 30 overs.

Langley Mill wasted no time in knocking off the runs, thanks to an unbeaten 61 from Andy Sibley. Skipper Nick Wright contributed 19 and Ben Scott weighed in with an unbeaten 12 as the Millers cruised home in 23 overs.

Of the Morton bowlers, Josh Clarke (2 for 19) was the only one who made any real impact and there was a wicket apiece for Mitch Adlington and Paul Holmes.

Scores: Langley Mill Utd (20pts) 117-4 [23 overs] (A Sibley 61*) beat Morton Colliery (1pt) 116 all out [29.4 overs] (A Bacon 4-29, A Walker 3-42) by 6 wickets
