May Day Events in Heanor and Ripley

Who doesn't love a Bank Holiday, and after the recent long Easter Weekend, we've got another two holidays coming up, including May Day Monday and the Spring Bank Holiday at the end of the month.

There's always something going on in our local area, and this next long weekend is no exception, with loads of events and activities to get you out of the house and making the most of your time off work/school. 

For the full details, visit our event listings pages , but to give you a flavour, we've pulled out three of the biggest events for you to have a look at...

Marehay May Day Fundraiser - 1-6pm at the  Village Inn, Marehay

Maypole dancing, folk dancing, live music, raffle and much more. Includes burger bar, stalls and of courser, great ale inside the venue itself. 

Heanor's Annual May Day Event - 11am - 2pm, Heanor Market Place

With a circus theme, this year's event includes children's workshops, stalls, entertainment, the famous Teddy's Leap of Faith and much more. 

Special Mayday Heanor Community Fair  - 10am - 2pm, St Lawrences Church, Heanor

To fit in with the May Day event, the team have organised a special Community Fair where you can buy all sorts of locally produced gifts, crafts and loads of other products as well as fiund out much more about what is happening in and around the town. Food and refreshments are available in the church.
