One of the great things about running thebestof is that we get to find out where all the fun is happening across the area, and we get to share that with you.

There’s so much happening this Halloween it’s hard to know where to start – whether you’re 1 or 100, there’s something for you this year.

For those that want to go slightly further afield, Gulliver’s at Matlock have a full weekend of fun and fireworks and the Lion Hotel in Belper is hosting its Annual Pumpkin and Halloween Party on Friday 28th

Closer to home Planet Happy, Denby Pottery and Heanor Blend are all running a full week of spooky themed activities for us to enjoy all through the Half Term.

On the 29th we’re in for an amazing Saturday of fun, with Pumpkin Day at Shipley Park, Starlight Halloween at Crich Tramway Village, Amber Valley RUFC’s Family Halloween Party and Halloween Fright Night at the Midland Railway.  Ripley is also playing host to one of the biggest Halloween Parties of the year, as Butterley Grange is the venue for the Halloween House of Haunted Horrors, a SecretPartyProject.co.uk event.

Sunday sees the finale of Gulliver’s Firework Spooktacular and then on the witching night itself its fun fun fun for the little one’s at Planet Happy’s Halloween Party, before we all head out to trick or treat our friends and neighbours. And if you’re not going out yourself, remember to pop to your local sweet shop and stock up for when your doorbell rings, you don’t want to be caught without do you...?

Whatever you’re doing though over the spooky weekend, stay safe and remember it’s all in the name of fun!
