Heanor Schoolchildren Rewarded for their Hard Work at Nirvana Indian Restaurant

Nirvana Indian Restaurant in Heanor was today taken over by over 30 children and teachers from Marlpool Junior School, as a treat for Year 6 to reward them for their hard work in the recent SATs tests.

Tables were pulled together and fully laid, and the children were treated to a feast, including

  • onion bhajis,
  • chicken tikka masala,
  • vegetable korma
  • pilau rice
  • and of course, the ubiquitous chips.

All of this was washed down with loads of orange and blackcurrant squash.

Some of the pupils had never tasted Indian food before, but all got stuck in and ate plenty, some having seconds (and a few even had thirds)! There was certainly hardly anything left on any of the plates by the time we arrived to snap a few photos.

As you can see from the happy faces below, all the children enjoyed themselves
and, as the staff were all smiling, we're guessing they did too - but then these guys always look happy!!!

Nirvana are able to cater for all types of groups up to 85 people. They also do an outside catering service offering the full range of their menu on an open buffet basis.
