After a change of personnel, the new inspector in charge of policing in the Amber Valley, including Heanor and Ripley, is Graham Lamin.

He takes over form Richard Smith, and is very experienced in Senior Leadership in our local Police Force, having previously been in charge of Bolsover District, and Belper before that.

Inspector Lamin has been a police officer for over 25 years, with experience on response and neighbourhood teams, on task forces, and in licensing and operations planning teams.  More recently he was recognised by the Prime Minister for his efforts as part of a team from Derbyshire who went down to London to help during the riots of 2011.

Insp. Lamin said: “I’m really pleased to be returning to the AmberValley area as Section Inspector, and hope to be able to build on the good work that Insp. Smith and to continue to work alongside partnership agencies with the aim of keeping the Amber Valley safe.

“I also hope to further improve confidence in local policing, and to work with the community to address the concerns of local residents.
