FREE PARKING in Heanor and Ripley
18th December 2012

Amber Valley Borough Council will once again be providing free parking in all of its pay and display car parks in the week before Christmas.

The free period will run from Tuesday 18 until Wednesday 26 December inclusive and is aimed at encouraging people to shop locally to support traders and to provide further incentive to local residents.

This offer is a long running tradition intended to attract additional Christmas trade to the Borough's four town centres.

The Council is encouraging shoppers to take advantage of free parking which applies at all times of the day in Ripley, Heanor, Belper and Alfreton, and any of the Council's 34 Pay & Display car parks throughout the borough, in the run up to Christmas.

Other rules regarding parking in disabled parking bays and maximum stays will still apply.

Cabinet Member for Green and Thriving Places to Live Councillor Martin Tomlinson said: "It's been a difficult time for many traders throughout the year in our town centres. We are once again showing our support to these businesses by giving shoppers that little bit more of an incentive in the run up to Christmas."

All our local car parks are free on all UK Bank Holidays excluding Good Friday.
