Free Christmas Parking for Shoppers in Amber Valley
12th December 2013
... Comments

Amber Valley Borough Council will once again be providing free parking, in all of its pay and display car parks in the week before Christmas. The free period will run from Wednesday 18 until Thursday 26 December inclusive, and is aimed at encouraging people to shop locally to support traders, and to provide further incentive to local residents.

This offer is a long running tradition intended to attract additional Christmas trade to the Borough’s four town centres. The Council is encouraging shoppers to take advantage of free parking which applies at all times of the day in Ripley, Heanor, Belper and Alfreton, and any of the Council’s 34 Pay & Display car parks throughout the borough, in the run up to Christmas. Other rules regarding parking in disabled parking bays and maximum stays will still apply.

Cabinet Member for Environment Councilor Peter Makin said: “At this time of year, it’s the Council’s pleasure to offer free parking to encourage residents and shoppers to visit the town centres, and help to support local businesses”.

Free parking is valid from midnight on Wednesday 18 until midnight on Thursday 26 December 2013. All our car parks are free on all UK Bank Holidays excluding Good Friday.
