Essence is an 11 week healthy lifestyle programme for teenage girls aged 13-16 which will support the participants in developing self-esteem, self-confidence, understanding and skills.

The programme covers a range of issues including healthy eating, physical fitness, personal safety, sexual health & relationships, body image, skin care and hair care.

Delivery is split into ten centre based sessions and one outdoor session with each session using a wide range of approaches to learning.

The programme is due to commence on Wednesday April 25th and will on this occasion be delivered from our Ripley base with sessions running each Wednesday from 10am-12.30pm.

As a youth project Blend are committed to celebrating the lives of young people and working to support their development of healthy self-esteem and ability to make informed, positive and healthy lifestyle choices.  Blend believe that the Essence programme has a proven track record in facilitating these outcomes.

Acceptance on the programme is by referral through schools or other agencies.  If you feel you would benefit from this scheme, please speak to your school, or call in to Blend at either Heanor or Ripley to speak to a Youth Worker.
