Following the Government’s announcement of new ‘credit easing’ measures to help small and medium-sized business access finance, Scott Knowles, Deputy-Chief Executive of the Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce, commented:
“This is welcome news, and is a much-needed shot in the arm for business confidence. The onus now is on the banks to optimise this opportunity to reassure smaller firms in particular, the drivers of the economic recovery, and encourage them to take up the new source of credit on offer. This Chamber hopes this is the first step towards a viable long-term improvement in the flow of credit to businesses.”
