6/11/2011 Derby Mini Soccer Under 9's  Group 2
Codnor Boys 0-3 Etwall United

Codnor's recent good run of form came to an end on Sunday against a strong Etwall side. Etwall started the stronger and took the lead when Codnor failed to clear. Codnor thought they had equalised, but the referee ruled that Liam Sheltons shot didn't cross the line. Before half time Etwall scored again leaving Codnor a mountain to climb.

The second half was more even. Stand in keeper Ewan McCracken did well and James Dean was denied by a super save from the Etwall keeper. Unfortunately Etwall went 3-0 up and that was how the score remained. Codnor were punished for dwelling on the ball in their own half, and hopefully lessons have been learnt. This was always likely to be a tough game and Codnor battled till the end but it wasn't to be their day.

Next week Codnor are in cup action and will need to be at their best against high flying Field Lane.
