20/11/2011 Derby Mini Soccer - Cup
Codnor Boys 0-3 Field Lane

Codnors interest in this seasons cup competition came to an end with a comprehensive defeat against Field Lane.

It was always expected to be a tough game with Field Lane being top of the league, winning all 8 matches to date.

Codnor began with Lewis Walker replacing the unavailable Liam Shelton. Field Lane took a two goal lead in the first half as Codnor struggled to make an impact. Tanaka Muchechesi and Bradley Pearson tried to create but came up against an organised defence and excellent goalkeeper. The second half followed much the same pattern and Field Lane scored again as Codnor failed to clear.

Colby O'Hare made some good saves and Noah Wright made some strong tackles. James Dean came closest for Codnor with a shot that just cleared the crossbar. Codnor continued to battle and never gave up, but Field Lane were always the better team.

Back to league action next week and hopefully Codnor can bounce back from this.
