Where did March go?

Well March certainly disappeared very quickly! The old saying March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb certainly didn't hold true for this year.  I am sure the last few days have had many of us hitting the "on" switch on the central heating again.

It has been a busy month for The Best of Haverhill. Thanks go to Preview Property Services, Tony Strowger Jewellers, SW Electrical Services (UK) Ltd and Travel Counsellors for renewing their membership to The Best of Haverhill recently.

The first "It's Thursday - with The Best of Haverhill" event is taking place on 15th April at The Days Inn Haverhill.  The three Prospective Parliamentary candidates for Labour, Conservatives and Liberal Democrats have all accepted the invitation to deliver their 5 minute manifesto for Haverhill businesses followed by a brief Q & A Session.  If you would like to join us for this event please email me at haverhill@thebestof.co.uk by 7th April.

We are launching a very exciting Buy Local campaign in the next few days. I will provide more details of this in a separate blog - but it is part of a national "thebestof" campaign.  The aim is to encourage more people to buy their goods and services from local suppliers - if it is available in your town, at the right quality and price then why go elsewhere?

There are lots of great events going on in and around the town. Fundraising Occasions are organising a Black Tie Charity ball on Saturday 17th April.  The event takes place at Chilford Hall and the fundraising is for the very worthy East Anglian Air Ambulance.

Tickets are available from Tracy or Linda from Preview Property Services.  They cost £45 each and  include a three-course meal and entertainment from an eight-piece band - Superstition. The Ball starts at 6.30pm with carriages at 1am.  It promises to be a great evening, with dancing, an auction and a raffle, the prime aim being to have fun while raising funds.

Contact Tracy or Linda on 01440 714219 or 07967 001520, or by email info@fundraisingoccasions.co.uk, to receive full details and a booking form.

Other dates for you diary in April are The Cambridge Chord Company playing at Haverhill Arts Centre on 10th April and The Haverhill Chamber of Commerce Member Showcase at Samuel Ward Arts and Technology College on 27th April.
