Haverhill Rovers are pleased to announce the arrival of goal keeper Alex Archer to the Club.
'Arch' didn't remain club less for long following a mutual agreement to end his contract with AFC Sudbury recently. He had already agreed to manager the Club's U18s during this season and to continue with the team next so it also made sense to turn out for the first team under Michael Shinn.
Starting his career at Peterborough United he has a stop three game stop at Haverhill Rovers where many will remember the game at Kings Lynn before moving through Ilkeston and Stamford AFC. More recently he had been signed at AFC Sudbury and had spent much of last season out on loan to Bury Town.
Alex said of his decision: "I am delighted to sign for the club as I feel it is a very ambitious club with real potential to progress over the next few years which is something I am relishing being part of. I have a great relationship with the manager and I believe that, with his experience, he is the ideal person to be working under at this stage of my career and to move the club forward."
He continued "As well as the playing side of things I am looking forward to working within the youth section of the football club, continuing my role as the U18's manager as well as working with the young goalkeepers across all of the age groups."
Speaking of his second new player this season manager Michael Shinn said "I'm so pleased that 'Arch' has come to Rovers. Not only with his playing career will he make a difference, but his coaching of the U18s will help develop future players for the team. He will also lend his experience to all the youth keepers throughout the club which has been something they have been lacking this season."
Player sponsorship has already been agreed with Gary Watson at We Do Designs and Labels such was the speed the news travelled so if you are interested in sponsoring a player next season please let Club Secretary Jules know as soon as possible on email@example.com.
