Haverhill Travel Counsellor Jennifer Bradnam offers advice for people planning a trip to the USA in the near future.
The US government has recently announced that as from 9 September, there will be a $14pp charge for ESTA applications. The ESTA is the compulsory internet form that must be completed prior to travel on the US visa waiver entry scheme. Currently the ESTA is free of charge, and is valid for 2 years from time of issue. No travel arrangements need to have been made in order to apply for the ESTA.
Therefore, if you think that you might possibly travel to the US (including US islands in the Caribbean, Hawaii & Alaska) in the next 2 years, I would advise you to complete your ESTA now. To do this, go to the ESTA website.
