The Suffolk Carbon Leaders Programme run by Carbon Smart on behalf of Suffolk County Council offers free consultancy, support and advice to businesses based in Suffolk.
The programme assists businesses of 50-250 FTE employees, based in Suffolk, to reduce their carbon footprint and by association their running costs. If your business is below 50 personnel please do still contact Carbon Smart as there are alternative schemes available to you.
This is a free service funded by Suffolk and participants receive four days of consultancy and support. An initial two days on site assesses the business and identifies opportunities for carbon and energy reduction. A short report is provided detailing the carbon footprint of the business and suggested actions to reduce it as well as potential sources of funding.
The second two days are available to really progress one or more of the suggested actions, this could be in the form of obtaining quotes, investigating technologies, organising staff engagement.
The programme is not trying to tell businesses how to run their operation but to identify savings in the peripheral items such as utilities, waste, vehicles etc.
