Mother’s Day is only a couple of weeks away but here at thebestof Haverhill, we believe that women – whether mums or not; young or old; entrepreneurs or stay-at-home mums; should have plenty of access to events and occasions that celebrate their personality and strength, help them find support and friendship, make life that little bit easier and inject laughter and fun into the day.
So we’ve done a little round-up of all things girly happening in Haverhill this month... and yes, men are more than welcome to attend the majority of them too!
Calling all yummy mummies and delicious daddies! Take part in a Sponsored Buggy Walk from 10am on Saturday March 10th, meet lots of local parents and children and raise funds for Aiden’s Footsteps – a local charity that is raising money for a beautiful little two year old boy with Cerebral Palsy to have an operation that will transform his quality of life.
The Sponsored Buggy Walk will be 5k through Cambridge; please click here for more information and to download a sponsorship form.
Another one for both sexes, but pink, tea party, cake... it’s perfect for the ladies!
Plus the Pink Rose Tea Party on Sunday 11th March has been organised by thebestof Haverhill member Sarah Gibbs to raise money for the Pink Rose Appeal – the breast cancer unit at Addenbrooke’s Hospital.
Held at Days Inn Haverhill from midday until 3pm, tickets cost just £10 and include tea and coffee, a selection of delicious, freshly made cakes, a goody bag and a ticket to the event’s raffle.
Cupcakes, Conversation and Shaa Wasmund
WOMENTA is a part of Suffolk Enterprise Agency, MENTA, which has partnered with NatWest to host a variety of networking events aimed at female entrepreneurs, business owners, leaders, educators and students.
Taking place from 9:30am until 11am on March 14th, you will be treated to a networking reception of refreshments and diva cakes before listening to guest presenter, Shaa Wasmund, founder of Smarta, author, mother and boxing know-it-all!
It’s a great opportunity to meet fellow women businesswomen, share ideas, support each other and as it’s free, there’s no reason not to come along.
For anyone who has had to nip to the loo before bouncing on the trampoline with the kids, or can’t remember quite when they lost that uninterrupted view of your feet, you’re going to love Big Pants and Botox – a brand new, one-woman show by Louise Roche (Girls Night) and starring Casualty’s Rebecca Wheatley.
Big Pants and Botox is being held at Haverhill Arts Centre at 8pm on 16th March 2012.
Mothers and Toddlers meet every Wednesday from 9:45am until 11:45am at the United Reformed Chapel at Wickhambrook.
It’s the perfect opportunity to meet other local mums, have a cup of tea or coffee and catch up while your children play safely.
